A room. A few chairs, with a neat pile of clothing on one chair. NELL
sits with a notebook in her lap;
she writes a couple of words on the current page, stares at them. LEN
ENTERS wearing a short white robe and flip-flops. He does not see
Nell. He rotates his arms, stretches.
LEN
Hell
of a way to make a living...
NELL
What?
LEN
What?
(sees
Nell)
Oh.
What are you doing in here?
NELL
What
do you mean?
LEN
You
don’t oughta be in here.
NELL
Are
you the king of the room?
LEN
What?
NELL
This
is a free room. I come here all the time.
LEN
Well,
you don’t oughta be in it when I’m in it.
NELL
Why?
LEN
This
is the break room for me. I get to come in here to not be seen, not
be on view. Get it?
NELL
Me,
too.
LEN
Why
aren’t you in the other room, where you belong?
